Heavy metal titans Slipknot have officially parted ways with their longtime turntablist and keyboardist, Sid Wilson, after nearly three decades together. The announcement came on August 15, 2026, shared via the official Instagram account of the band’s Knotfest brand following a briefly posted and deleted update on Slipknot’s main channels.
The band’s statement read: ‘Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson. We wish him the best for the future endeavors.’
Wilson, famously known to Maggots as ‘#0’, seemingly confirmed his departure by updating his Instagram bio to read ‘@slipknot 1997-2026.’
While official details regarding the split remain undisclosed, rumors of Wilson’s dismissal began surfacing in late July following a TMZ report claiming the turntablist had been permanently terminated.
Speculation among fans and insiders points to mounting internal friction compounded by Wilson’s personal struggles following his recent divorce from Kelly Osbourne, daughter of heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne.
Wilson’s exit leaves Slipknot with only four original members from their classic lineup, marking another significant chapter in the masked metal outfit’s evolving history following the past departures of Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Chris Fehn, and Craig Jones.
