Bandung-based emo/post-hardcore band for Revenge has been tapped to deliver an original song titled “I Miss You Every Brand New Day” for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day film project. The collaboration came together after Sony Music and Sony Pictures recognized that the band’s signature emotional vulnerability mirrored Peter Parker’s inner turmoil.
This projects represents both a monumental achievement and a fresh creative challenge of for Revenge. While previously their songs were born from the members’ personal stories or experiences, this time they had to delve into the heads and inner wounds of the spider-masked superhero.
“For us, this is an honor. We never imagined that Revenge would be given the opportunity to write a work based on one of the biggest film franchises in the world,” said vocalist Boniex.
He also added that the process of creating this song requires a broader perspective.
“Usually, we create based on our own experiences. This time, we had to blend in with what Peter Parker felt in the film. As a Spider-Man fanboy, it was once again an honor to explore the emotional side of Peter Parker,” he continued.
Musically, “I Miss You Every Brand New Day” retains Revenge’s signature emotional identity. It still evokes feelings of heartbreak and suffering, but combined with a grandiose production scale.
Frontman Boniex called the opportunity an absolute honor, noting that as a die-hard Spider-Man fan, channeling Peter Parker’s pain was a dream come true. Musically, the track retains for Revenge’s trademark angst, elevated by grand cinematic production.
The release features guest vocalist Cynantia Pratita, vocal direction by Kamga, and dramatic choral backing by Gege Gumilar, Mulia Aprianto, Nadine Arlyanaza, and Luginia Raftiane.
